Jenkintown Vegan is always on the lookout for reliably great vegan eats up in the northern burbs of Philadelphia, PA. Find anything great to add to the list or do you have a restaurant and wanting input on adding more vegan options? Email us here.

Totally veg / vegan options

Flat Belly Veg – Erdenheim – ALL VEGAN – Wraps, smoothies, bowls, quesadillas.
Hoser’s Central Kitchen – Chestnut Hill (inside Market at the Fareway) – All Vegetarian – Great vegan options with seasonal menu, super tasty & creative food like “Hoser’s Tofu,” mushroom cheesesteak, caesar. Also do a ‘Chef’s Counter’ fancy sit-down dinner on the weekends by reservation.
Luhv Vegan Bistro – Hatboro – ALL VEGAN – Vegan sandwiches, burgers, soups, etc. One of our favs, try the Reuben! Two other locations including Reading Terminal Market.
Nile Vegan Cafe – Mount Airy – ALL VEGAN – Vegan soul food! Philly’s longest-running vegan restaurant w/ vegan meat platters.
PLNT Burger – Jenkintown / Abington – ALL VEGAN – Vegan burgers, fries and shakes. Great option inside Whole Foods Jenkintown.

Serve meat but have vegan options

Be Well Bakery & Cafe – Huntingdon Valley – Cute and cozy coffee shop and cafe, have a vegan vegetable burrito and Santa Diego wrap, vegan pb energy bites. Wish they had more vegan options, an employee told us they used to have seitan.
Bishos – Fox Chase – Awesome mediterranean falafel wraps, bowls.
Chestnut Hill Brewing Co – Chestnut Hill (inside Market at the Fareway) – Tons of vegan options on the menu (ask for pizzas to be made vegan) – forager mushroom pizza w/ vegan aioli, buffalo cauliflower, cauliflower cream rigatoni, vegan ramen, potato gnocchi, burgers, veggie street tacos.
Drake Tavern – Has Beyond Burger patty option for burgers and vegetarian tacos w/ Beyond Meat. (Haven’t confirmed bread / tortillas vegan)
El Limon Taqueria – Glenside – Probably the most legit Mexican food in the area. Great veggie tacos, burritos, enchiladas (ask no sour cream / cheese). Refried beans and tortillas are vegan, rice is NOT (has chicken stock). Awesome salsas.
Elia Greek Authentic Cuisine – Have a great vegan seitan gyro w/ vegan tzatziki sauce, can get falafel with vegan tzatziki.
Fill a Bagel – Jenkintown – Great local bagel shop with tofutti vegan cream cheese. Used to have chicken-less salad and egg-less salad, would be great if they brought those back!
The Green Fork – North Wales – Farm fresh restaurant with many vegan options like a vegan breakfast sandwich, seitan wings, vegan mac, vegan chicken sandwich and more.
Harvest Seasonal Grill – North Wales – Local farm-to-table eatery w/ items like Lemon-Kale Pesto w/ Tofu, Pad Thai, Cauliflower Wings and more. Has a “Plant-Based Bowls” section on the menu.
The Highland Restaurant & Bar – Glenside – New modern American fusion. Has vegan BLT, brunch tofu scramble avo toast, loaded vegan tots, cauliflower steak, caesar can be made vegan.
Human Robot – Jenkintown – Modern brew pub, several vegan options like Weggiewurst, Beyond Burger, Vegan Sloppy Joe, Brussels Sprouts. FYI- Pretzel bites are *not vegan*.
Jules Thin Crust – Jenkintown / Abington – Thin crust square pies, have vegan cheese and vegan sausage; Happy Mixer vegan cookies.
King’s Corner – Jenkintown – Great little soccer pub with lots of character, main thing on the menu is buffalo cauliflower that can be made vegan (no ranch). Veggie burger is not vegan, would be great to see more vegan options here, same owners as Lilly’s.
Lilly’s Authentic Indian Cuisine – Jenkintown – Wonderful Indian food, vegan Gobi Manchurian fried cauliflower, samosas, most curries can be ordered vegan with coconut milk. Roti is vegan. Vegetarian section on menu.
New Wild Ginger – Huntingdon Valley – Awesome Asian fusion, vegetarian section with mock meats. Our favorites – Rainbow stir fry, Massamun made vegan w/ tofu, Golden Pond.
Pizza Wheel – Jenkintown – ‘Vegan Cheesin’ 18″ pie, Vegan Parm (portabella / broccoli rabe / vegan mozz) – Our favorite vegan pizza in the area!
Queen Sushi – Keswick Village / Glenside – Vegetarian section on menu, use duck-style seitan. We love this hearty option.
Salam Cafe – Mount Airy – Has a fantastic Ethiopian Vegan Platter.
Thai Kuu – Chestnut Hill – Thai restaurant with vegan options recommended to us. Curries, fresh tofu spring rolls, noodle dishes, specify vegan when ordering.
Turning Point – Upper Dublin – Probably best brunch option nearby, great chain w/ Vegan Just Egg omelets, Beyond sausage, vegan pancakes, French press coffee.
Welcome Home Cafe – Jenkintown – Vegan crab cake + scrapple, grilled vegetable salad and platter. Brioche bun is *not* vegan FYI.
White Elephant Thai – Abington – Great Thai option. Vegetarian section on the menu, solid Massamun curry, our food has seemed reliably vegan here unlike other area Thai restaurants where when asking for vegan we still tasted fish sauce.
Young American Cider – Germantown / Mt Airy – Cidery + tasting room with savory hand pies (like an empanada) like BBQ Tofu + coleslaw pie, spinach pie, sweet potato curry, sweet chili brussels sprouts and more.

Sweets & treats

Bilal’s Bakery – Jenkintown – *closed* (Note: Bilal’s has been replaced by Grandma Jannah’s ice cream shop, unclear if any vegan options.) They usually have a few vegan treats like cupcakes, Turkish delights. Sometimes vegan food options to-go.
Dreams Ice Cream – Glenside – Fantastic vegan ice cream by Vannah Banana, waffle cones, great people!
Goat House Creamery – Elkins Park – Great vegan ice cream, usually have a couple flavors. Also- Vegan Affogato (ice cream with shot of espresso on top)!
Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe – Elkins Park – Great vegan options and cozy shop!
Velvet Sky Bakery – Jenkintown – Custom order bakery that does vegan cakes and cupcakes.
Whole Foods – Jenkintown – Quite a few vegan baked goods like donuts, muffins, scones, plus cupcakes in the bakery case. Custom vegan cakes available. Also have vegan pizzas.
